Bean boots are pretty much true to size – I’m a size 7, which is typical for me. If you’re looking for recommendations, I highly recommend splurging and snagging the goretex/thinsulate ones. They are more expensive than the original pair (about 60 dollars more) but, honestly, if there is a time to get them, it’s now. They’re waterproof and WARM but not like, “ohmygod my feet are on fire” warm. Jake had the original duck boot for men, and then switched to the goretext, and he is literally so much happier.
For real though, bean boots have been around for 100 years and, if you’re not on the trend yet, it’s time to join the club…!
ALSO! L.L. Bean is pretty much the best of the best. I will take any flannel in any color because #1) They’re wicked comfortable and #2) All the patterns are adorable. Plus, they have a satisfaction guarantee policy. I’m wearing the Stewart Victoria pattern in the picture below, paired with my favorite J.Crew boots and the classic downtown field jacket (….also from J.Crew….) Mine is a small, and I usually grab a medium, but it’s really all up to personal preference. This jacket has been around for years now, and I still see it all over New York. It goes with everything, and is perfect for Fall and even early spring. If you’re looking for a comfortable flannel that will last you for years, grab the flannel now while it’s still 25% off.
In the photos below, Katie and I visited Sam, the youngest Murdock sister, at college. Quinnipiac has a beautiful campus, and we had such a fun time walking around together. Katie was wearing the Dress Gordon pattern of the Women’s Scotch Plaid Shirt from L.L. Bean. She’s also rocking the Excursion Quilted Down Vest from J. Crew. Unfortunately, this green is a retired color, but it’s a J. Crew tradition to grab it in either navy or black. The vest also happens to be 40% off with the code “Layerup” until November 10th.
