Here it is: me, in glasses! How do they look? I keep going back and forth with how I feel about it – I’m seriously not used to having something on my face, and after only wearing them a few days I can already tell how obsessive I’m going to be about keeping them clear of smudges. Sam helped me choose these Ray Bans that I’m a huge fan of… I love the gold framing. The two of us were giggling like crazy in LensCrafters, and I think I tried on every pair in the store. To be honest with you guys, it’s been quite a journey here, and I’m seriously hoping it’s the end of it.
*side note: I’m obsessed with my new denim J.Crew Jumper (selling out like crazy!) paired with this striped J. Crew turtle neck – it’s cute and casual, and was perfect for my outing in Brooklyn Saturday night! You’ll also notice it’s what I wore that morning for my portrait session with Sophie & Lili*
Around Halloween, I started getting this persistent headache – it felt like a pressure, right in my forehead and, sometimes, at the top of my head. It was minor, but always there. A couple weeks later I got a sinus infection and thought “Oh! That must have been why my head has been hurting so much. Just pre-sinus stuff.” Tack on the fact that I was working full time and taking 5 grad school classes, I figured it would, eventually, pass. Regardless, I received an antibiotic for the sinus infection, clearing away all symptoms except one; this headache. It would hardly be there in the mornings but, by 8 pm, I would need to get my pajamas on and lay down. I received a scan of my sinus’, and I was told there was no infection (oh – but I apparently have a deviated septum…?)
ANYWAY: my doctor sent me to Lenscrafters where I met with an eye doctor. Truthfully, I met with an eye doctor about 5 or 6 years ago who told me my left eye was only slightly weaker than my right. He said I didn’t need glasses but, since my insurance covered them, I could get them. My mom decided I should have them, but I was a brat and hardly ever touched them because I felt like my vision was pretty good. (yeahhhh, it’s not anymore….)
I received a pair of glasses that, for now, I’m going to be wearing full time. Eventually, I’ll probably only use them for class, driving or watching movies. But, in order to see if this stops the headaches, I’m not taking them off unless it’s to put on my new Michael Kors reading glasses – which should be coming in any day now!
I’m still getting headaches, but it’s only been a few days. Hopefully, they’ll subside after this – but I will for sure keep you all updated! 🙂
P.S I’m pretty much the biggest Harry Potter fan….so you’ll probably be seeing the series a lot in my posts…. I’m a Hufflepuff! Anyone else???? I wear the Alex and Ani Harry Potter Ring pictured below literally daily – often, at work, I have 4th graders react to it as if it’s an engagement ring (AKA surrounding my hand, exclaiming how beautiful it is) – they’re the sweetest. Thanks Mom & Dad for the thoughtful Christmas gift!
