Stocking stuffers are unbelievably essential to the aura of Christmas morning. In my family, we always start off with our stockings, and each open them together as a family. Of course, Santa always knows exactly what we want! It’s become family tradition to include a few essential items – including CANDY, of course! 🙂
I decided to see if I could find the “best” of the stocking stuffer world, and bring them to you! I’ve been looking for a little Christmas joy lately, especially with the stress of the end of grad school, and now that I’ve turned in my final assignment – I feel back on track for embracing the Christmas spirit!

p.s. Fun fact:Â I waited a year for the taxi ornament above! Last year, I went to the holiday market at Union Square, and debated buying it. I slept on it, and then decided I had to get it. Unfortunately, they sold out. THIS YEAR, I went back, and there it was! It felt like it was waiting for me, and now I literally want to keep it absolutely forever. Anyone know that feeling????

I think Etsy is always one of the best places to find Stocking Stuffers, or Christmas presents, and I just love helping out small businesses! If you’re as big of a Taylor Swift fan as me, then you know that a pin like this is a perfect find for any Swiftie. I always message the Etsy seller before buying around the holidays – just to make sure the item will ship in time! Normally, I find that Etsy sellers work with you and try to accommodate, if they can.
I personally find J. Crew trouser socks to be my go-to sock all winter long. I love wearing them with low booties and skinny jeans, so you just get the peep of the pattern on my ankles! This pair is so festive, and the perfect stocking item. Plus, they’re cozy! I’ve kept pairs for so long, and hardly ever branch out to other brands when it comes to this “look.”
I got this ribbon last year from J. Crew, and I wear it all the time. I prefer the pink, just based on the kind of girl I am, but the dark green they offer is also s t u n n i n g. Perfect for any holiday party or New Years Eve. I just love how easy these are to put in your hair (especially coming from me – I still struggle curling my hair!) and they really dress up a pony tail, or half up/half down look. P.S. I put this on my stocking stuffer list for 2017, and I literally do not care. It’s that pretty!
Okay, so my little sister has this bean boot keychain on her keys. She got it at the L.L. Bean store in Freeport, and every time I see it, I just love it. It’s such a nice touch to her keychain, and everyone always compliments her on it! This would be the perfect addition to any stocking, especially for a New England girl.
At the bottom of every stocking, belongs a perfect, plush, loofah. There’s nothing better than a new loofah, but Bath and Body ones take the cake. They are extremely soft, and get that extra amount of sudsy – which means you don’t need to use quite as much soap in the shower! This pink one would be my personal choice, but they also come in turquoise and a festive silver!
THIS is my all time favorite winter hat. I got it last year, and it’s a J. Crew “Best seller.” It literally stays on perfectly – the perfect amount of snug on my head so it doesn’t blow off in those city wind tunnels! Plus, it’s just wicked cute. This ribbed beanie comes in an assortment of colors – literally 9 of them! I chose orange because it reminded me of my Dad’s orange beanie he’s been wearing for the last 25 years – and I just couldn’t help wanting a look-a-like for myself! Definitely more of a gift-in-a-stocking combo, but it would be such a fun surprise!
If you’re a Connecticut local, you know that Munson’s Chocolate is the way to go. A classic, Munson’s, milk chocolate break apart bar is the perfect addition to any holiday stocking. We always have chocolate in our stockings, and why not get the best of the best? If there isn’t a location near you that carries them, definitely order them and give them a try! They’re small bars go as low as a $1.50, and are completely worth it for the taste!
This has become my new favorite shampoo and condition combo. I literally only own the travel size of this Bumble and Bumble set, and have been savoring every last drop. This stuff is sooooo good on my hair, and I think it might be that “invisible oil” part of it that really helps it look smoother and less frizzy. I was having such a problem keeping some of my “baby hairs” down, and this has helped a ton. This travel combo is such a deal, and the perfect little gift to find inside of a stocking!
Bath and Body shower gel is literally my favorite body wash. I have my favorite scents, of course….but warm vanilla sugar always feels like my “Winter” scent. It’s the perfect mix of vanilla and floral, and isn’t too strong. I have extremely sensitive skin, so a body wash that works well for me is really important. It’s a Murdock essential to have one of these in your stocking (maybe two…) and it wouldn’t be Christmas morning without it!
When it comes to phone cases, I always go with Rifle Paper Co. I love their clear cases with floral patterns, and they still make the phone feel “thin.” I’m not a huge fan of a bulky case – however, I still drop my phone pretty frequently, and I have never had a problem with protection from one of these cases. The case below is the one on my own phone (I have the pink 8 plus!) Their cases really dress up an iPhone, and add such a pretty touch to your daily electronic. 😉
Now, is it the teacher in me, or does everyone else also love getting pretty pens inside of their Christmas stocking? There’s not much better than a fresh set of colorful pens to play with, and Paper Mate felt tips are my favorite for my Rifle Paper Co. planner. I just love how they don’t bleed through! Honestly, I originally discovered them when I started bullet journaling (which we all know I gave up…) and they’ve had my heart ever since!
Okay – this deters from my usual material. However, I am eyeing this avocado cuber….I mean, can you imagine the salad possibilities? I’m one of those people that l o v e s avocado in my salad (NYU did that to me….) and I just think this such a handy little tool from Williams and Sonoma! I mean…I would want it in my stocking….
I don’t know about you, but I’m the kind of person who comes home from work and changes into the comfiest clothes possible. This, of course, includes slippers. I think it’s nice to have a designated pair of slippers that are meant for just sliding on and lounging on the couch in. This pair from Pottery Barn looks extra cozy – plus, they’re obviously faux fur!
Minimergency kits are all the rage! Funny story….when my sister got married in September 2017, I was in charge of making the bridal emergency kit. I put everything in an L.L. Bean tote, monogrammed with her new last name, and I ordered a bunch of different stuff to put inside. Well, I found a bridesmaid Minimergency kit right away. When it arrived in the mail, it came in a giant box. I opened it up to find a very very very very tiny make up bag. Truthfully, I had nooooo idea that, really, it’s meant to include teeny-tiny essentials for the big day. For some reason, I thought I was ordering a full sized makeup bag! Funnily enough, I ended up cutting myself at the reception, and found a bandaid in the kit! It was perfect – and just the right size! However now I know that mini really means very mini. 😉 I particularly love the tassel on the zipper of this one!
I just love leopard print. It’s the pattern that I can, seriously, never get enough of. I think it’s just a perfect touch to a solid colored outfit. This umbrella will make you feel fashionable and sleek on any rainy day. It would fit perfectly into any stocking, and would be extremely useful come time for those April showers!
An Italian Leather passport holder is the perfect gift, or fancy stocking stuffer, for any traveler in your life. I am eyeing this pretty pink one by J. Crew (Are you surprised?) and you can even add a monogram for an additional ten dollars. (Worth it.) The pop of color adds to the excitement of a trip – perfect to hide some plane tickets in if you’re looking for a fun Christmas surprise! (I can dream.)
I was always looking for great water bottles….but, ever since my friend Meg got me my S’Well a few years ago, I never looked anywhere else! A 9 oz. S’well would be the perfect addition to any Christmas stocking. It’s just the right size, and perfect for everyday life. This is the kind of water bottle I would just throw into my tote bag when I run errands. It truly stays very cold, or hot, alllllllll day long. Plus, they’re all condensation free, so the bottle will stay dry on the outside. I love this feature, because I never want anything in my bag to get wet.
What are your stocking stuffer essentials this Christmas? Opening stockings is one of my favorite parts of Christmas morning!
