I still wear my J.Crew Chelsea Rain Boots all winter and spring – they are perfect for work and walking around town for when I don’t want to wear my heavier, warmer, bean boots. Jeans are J.Crew, and so is the coat. Sadly, my coat is out of stock on J.Crew. There still seems to be a couple in stock on Amazon or J.Crew Factory! This London Fog belted puffer has a similar look, and is currently on sale at Nordstrom!
I’ve also been MIA on social media this past week because I had, what felt like, the worst cold. It was the kind of sick where I barely had the energy to look through my phone. I spent last weekend celebrating my sister Katie’s 30th up in Boston, and by the time I got back to Connecticut, I had the chills and was in bed by 7:30. I spent the beginning’s of the week just laying around. Sure, I got some stuff done – I finished the Percy Jackson series (recommended by my students – I loved it!!), started Becoming by Michelle Obama (amazing!) and basically survived the work week through my sniffles.
I was so grateful to be feeling better by the end of the week, Jake and I decided we should spend the day walking around West Hartford and eating lunch at one of our new favorite spots there, Nummy. We love splitting soup dumplings and some udon noodles, and it was the perfect lunch date for my day off. However, most of the weekend I’ve just spent relaxing and getting past the gloominess of the state of the weather. I honestly loved walking around the area, even despite all the slush of the city!
Sometimes, I think it’s just this time of year. The fun part of winter is over and I’m eyeing spring ahead, which feels just a little too far away. Anyone else get this way?
