By now, I think it should be pretty straight forward that it’s unacceptable if you’re not wearing a mask in a public space. Unfortunately, the pandemic is still here, and therefore we need to continue to hold ourselves accountable. Masks are not a political issue, but rather a necessity in order to keep ourselves, and those we love, safe during this time. We all need to do our part to help each other! Wearing a mask is a kind thing to do.
Since realizing I need quite a few masks on hand, and knowing I might need to wear one throughout the day when I go back to work in the fall, I decided that I might as well have masks that I love to wear. We all know I love something visually appealing! I told my friend Tara how badly I wanted a gingham mask, because I saw this one on Etsy, and she volunteered to make me some! Per her request, I made a donation to the Amelia Park Children’s Museum rather than paying her, which I was so happy to do! They are absolutely beautiful and so well made. She did an amazing job – thank you, Tara! <3
The masks I am eyeing next are made with Rifle Paper Co fabric (my favorite!) and these ones look like they ship really quickly. I’m also such a huge fan of a pink or blue seersucker material, so you know those are on my list as well. I would love to learn how to make some myself and am thinking about taking out my Mom’s sewing machine to give it a try. I’ll need to watch a lot of youtube videos though first…I don’t even know the first thing about it, so it would definitely be a summer challenge. Maybe when I catch up on Needlepoint? (This will never happen, I’m addicted to needlepointing!)
What are your favorite masks to wear?
