Hello, hello! Remember when I told you all, like, two months ago that I had invisalign and never told you? Well, unfortunately, the pandemic pushed things back even further. Originally I was supposed to get the brackets removed, and stop wearing them, on March 30th. Well, three months later, I was finally able to have an appointment to get them off!
The process of getting the brackets off was very easy and now I just go back to get my retainer for night wearing. Honestly, I feel like that’s what I have been doing the last two months anyway – I stopped wearing them during the day sometime in April, on my orthodontists recommendation, so this shouldn’t feel too different! All in all, everything was super painless and worth it.
Jeans are Gap and so is the jean jacket! Two of my favorite pieces of denim in my closet. The waffle tee is J. Crew – comfy and cute! You can’t see, but I paired with these Jack Rogers.
I am so very happy with the results and I would 100% recommend the process. Sure, there are the down sides I mentioned in my last post (the annoying-ness of sooo much brushing!!!! Particularly annoying at work.) but I’m so grateful that I have permanently resolved any issues with my teeth. I had one tooth that just kept moving over the years and Invisalign brought it right back into place. Before Invisalign, I would always look in the mirror and my eyes would go directly to that one tooth out of place. Now that it is fixed, I feel so much happier! Health wise, it would’ve been a problem down the road if I didn’t eventually move it, so I’m really glad I decided to get it out of the way and do it now. If it weren’t for the pandemic, the process would have only been 10 weeks, which really wasn’t a bad amount of time!
If you have any thoughts about doing it, I highly recommend getting a consultation to see how much it would cost and how long it would take. I found both the price and amount of time to be worth it for me. If you decide to do it, definitely make sure to stay on top of it and wear it for the directed amount of hours. I was really particular about making sure I wore them as much as I was supposed to, if not more.
It’s also a lot easier to get by without people noticing them than I originally anticipated. Well, at least that’s what people told me lol. I felt a bit uncomfortable about it at first and became a bit shy about smiling, but after a while you get so used to it and you realize that no one minds at all. You’re doing something to help you, which is 100% worth it! The clear liners make it so much easier than typical braces – which I did have!
The point? I’m so happy I did it! If you have any questions about the process, feel free to comment below!
