To be honest, I have been in a bit of a writing slump with the blog lately. It’s been more difficult to get material out there – I’ve been really committed to my new job, which has truly been really wonderful, but I’m also trying to ensure that I’m keeping up with the blog on my end for myself. Obviously I love those who read, but the blog is such an outlet for me in talking about both life and fashion.
One thing I discovered this year is that I’m really into a *good* button down blouse for work. I love something that’s a bit less fitted because I just find the look to be a bit more flattering on me. I’m looking forward to doing a bit more layering with my button downs! I love a good blazer or sweater come the crispier era of Fall. I’m seriously eyeing the J.Crew sweater blazer for my upcoming fall/winter months…I love the coziness of it combined with the sleek style!
This one is by Gap, but I unfortunately can’t seem to find this exact pattern online anymore. However, it’s this one if you’re looking for a solid blue! My pattern gave me some Liberty London vibes, so I would recommend this one or this one if you’re looking for a similar floral look for work. Jeans are also my favorites from Gap and shoes are, obviously, Jack Rogers. Bag is J.Crew from two seasons ago that, at one point, you guys literally saw all over every Instagram picture of mine! (Like here!) Pretty sure their new Devon bag is the upgraded version. 😉
I love a well-made button down because it allows me to feel professional in my work environment while also feeling casual enough with a pair of skinny jeans and brown short booties. Lately I’ve also been experimenting with a full tuck and a skinny belt (my god, doesn’t it just make you want a Gucci belt…?) I’ve been sharing my daily looks for work each morning on the “Style” highlight on my Instagram – check it out if you want to see what I’m referring to!
Are you a button down blouse kind of girl? How do you style your daily work look?
