Honestly, I can’t believe that summer is *actually* over. It feels like it didn’t even really happen, since it was so different than all the other summers I have had. There has been some serious writers block ever since the pandemic started, which is funny because I’ve found there’s a lot of people who have gotten extra creative (ummm…Taylor Swift?!) during all of this. But I have to realize that it’s okay to not be productive in all areas at once. We’re all running a marathon here and we need to make sure we pace ourselves in order to do our best work. Easier said than done, right?!
In all seriousness, the end of summer really makes me reflect on the last six months, rather than what’s happened since June. I think with the craziness of spring and then a summer of wondering what would happen…it makes it hard to think of the summer as a single block of time but rather an extension of March onwards. Sure, I’ve definitely had fun this summer, and made sure that I found time to relax within my apartment walls…! But it certainly wasn’t the same, and I’m seriously hoping that by next summer we are all able to travel more freely again. It’s something I really do miss!
At the same time, the end of summer brings the beginning of a brand new chapter for me. I’ve been waiting to have my own classroom for too long to not be excited – even if it looks different than what we are used to! 🙂
How does the end of summer feel for you?
