Watching your first friend get married is really such a surreal feeling. You realize all of the sudden you’re getting to *that* age, where people are truly adulting. Your 20’s are such a weird stage to begin with, because everyone is at a different place and going at a different pace. However, this past weekend I watched my friend Katherine, who I’ve been friends with since the 6th grade, marry Sam. The two of them are just perfect for each other and the ceremony was just the absolute loveliest. They decided to get married at the Woodstock Inn, which is quite possibly one of the most gorgeous venues I have ever seen. The ceremony was held out back, but felt incredibly private. There were these gorgeous flower arches with tons of greenery – picture perfect fairy tale. In general, the town of Woodstock is picturesque and adorable – exactly as it should be for Kat’s big day!
Dress is by Julia Hengel, Gal Meets Glam. It is literally one of the best dresses I have ever owned – in general, her dresses fit best on me, and it had the deepest pockets. I was able to dance all night with my iPhone in my pocket without any trouble at all!
What I loved most was that the wedding was designed in a way where it was personal to both them and their families. I could not compliment them more on how they thought of literally every personal touch. I also didn’t expect to be quite as emotional as I was through the whole ordeal! I teared up during the speeches of both her parents, and of course while watching her walk down the aisle. She looked unbelievably stunning, like a bride right out of a magazine.
At one point, all the *single ladies* went out to dance. Of course, Katherine geared up to toss the bouquet, and it literally fell right into my hands. Everyone cheered and it was such a wonderful moment with my friend on her wedding night – I will never forget it! ❤️ Not only was it a fun moment, but it gave me a opportunity to connect with her on her big day, which was really special.
She also got the best band to perform – I can’t tell you the last time I literally danced an entire night! All of us were jokingly bowing to them because the singers, Tiffany and Mark, just had the most incredible voices. Everyone was taking their cards by the end of the night! It was one of the first weddings Jake and I have gone to where we literally were able to dance the entire night with our friends, and each other. It could not have been more perfect!
I can’t stress enough what a delight it was to watch her get married. I love you, Katherine!!!!
